Tuscany: MARK REID – Boys will be Boys and Tiger Faces
Mark will be demonstrating his latest designs in boy faces and tribal and tattoo designs, as well as his well loved and much desired tiger faces.
Lombardy: CATHY CORBETT - Flutterbies and Butterflies
Cathy will share one of her great loves, butterflies with her class. This is a course she has taught before at other conventions, and one that has always been very popular. Cathy has a wonderful sense of colour and form and will show you tricks on how to create your own butterfly design which sets your apart from the rest. (This class will be repeated on Sunday if you wish to take another class in this slot)
Chianti: ERIKA HARRISON: Glitter Tattoos
Learn to create these sparkly, sensational tattoos with ease and efficiency. Kids love these temporary tattoos made from Glitter and glue. A huge revenue earner at festivals and on hot days! Erika is the Glitter Tattoo Guru, and she can answer any question there is on the subject. If you are thinking of taking this up as part of your reportoire…you need this time with Erika! (This class will be repeated on Saturday if you wish to take another class in this time slot).

Tuscany – LUCIE BROUILLARD – Scenes and colour theory
Lucie will review the classics in this class, focussing on use of colour, what works and what doesn’t . Lucie has a wonderfully inventive and entertaining way to learn about color theory which she will share and demonstrate in this class. You can challenge Lucie with scenes you really want to add to your repertoire and come away feeling like you have absorbed amazing new skills. Lucie’s colour theory is a STUNNINGLY good lesson to learn – don’t miss this class.
Lombardy – JODI CARR – Friendly Halloween Faces
Jodi Carr has a magic brush. She creates beautiful monsters, happy goblins and all sorts of magical beasts. We asked Jodi if she could come up with an alternative to scary Halloween – so she came up with Friendly Halloween Faces. Jodi’s gentle way, makes her the perfect antithesis to Halloween - this will provide us all with a new arsenal of faces to pull out which the kids AND parents will all love – and you will look sooooooooooo good!
Bordeaux: LARISSA REINDERS Henna ”Henna 101″ – demo / hands on
A class geared to those who would like to investigate the opportunities that the ancient art of henna has to offer. Learn how to make all natural henna paste and how to apply it. Understand the importance of aftercare and the best ways to assist your clients to get the most out of their art. Take a quick tour through the traditions of henna, the importance of using natural henna, and how henna can be enjoyed in our current society. Larissa will provide all the goodies you will need to get started, and guide you to resources to continue your henna adventure!

Tuscany : JINNY – BLENDING TECHNIQUES – Hands on – bring your KIT and practice with Jinny!!
This class offers the students the opportunity to learn Jinny’s amazing style of perfect “airbrushed looking” blending. Jinny will teach the students how to load their sponge correctly and how to double and triple load a sponge to blend multiple colours in the one movement. She will share her tips on applying the makeup to the skin, and manipulating the sponge into different shapes. Jinny will also cover blending using mainly brushes.
Lombardy: REM-X Beach Party Airbrush Tattoo Techniques
Got an airbrush…want to learn how to get the most out of it??? Learn how to use your airbrush to create amazing tattoo art on the Body. Remy Audette has been adorning bodies and clothing with creative, provocative imagery for years in Montreal, and we are delighted that he has agreed to come to Calgary to share his techniques with us. Using Stencils and Freehand techniques you can blow the competition out of the water with what you can learn from this extremely talented artist.
Chianti – REBECCA ARTYBRUSHSTROKES – Face Painting using Split cakes
Rebecca, The Creator Of Arty Brush Cakes will teach you designs that look complicated, but can be created in just a few minutes. In this extreme hands on class, you will learn how to blend, high lite and shadow with a single stroke! Rebecca will teach you brush stroke basics, and move on to Face Painting Designs using the original Arty Brush Cakes. This technique is not only a crowd pleaser…but, will help you move your line! ( This class will be repeated on Sunday if you wish to take another course in time slot).

Gary and his team have held the Guinness World Record for the most faces painted in an hour. If there is anyone in the WORLD who can speak with conviction on painting good faces fast…its Gary. He will show you how to achieve professional looking faces in likedysplit time, improving your bottom line at festivals and in situations where you need to get through a lot of clients quickly while maintaining your quality output.
Niagara LUCIE BROUILLARD – Beginner Body Painting Demonstration
Lucie will work with a model to demonstrate how to plan a body painting design. She will show how to lay down an effective base, how to quickly cover large areas of skin, understanding contrasts and tone, as well as the importance of line-work and textures. Lucie will also explain the aspects of painting for view from afar, and from closeup for photographs.

Cathy will show you how to think out of the box, and create completely original designs for these faces we are constantly asked to churn out. For some of us, they may be our favourite faces to paint, but we want to learn to add that extra pizzazz and style to them to make them our own. After only 1.5 hours, you will leave Websites 101 armed with valuable information you need to know in order to have a piece of real estate on the Internet that you can be proud of, and that search engines and clients will be guaranteed to find! But creating and organizing content is harder than it seems to newbies… The content gathering and creation skills discussed in class will be beneficial to both aspiring web developers and those of you who want to hire a developer. Mark, our official photographer at Bodyssey, also teaches his craft. We have asked him to share with us the simple tricks of the trade, so that those of us with point and shoot digital cameras can better capture those really awesome designs for our portfolios in a quick and easy setting. This is an invaluable lesson to learn if you are not a seasoned photographer but want to build a professional looking catalogue of your work. Mark will be assisted in his workshops by a representative from VISTEK, one of Bodyssey’s sponsors. If you want to know more about practical photographic equipment, Vistek’s rep will give you sensible advice on what you should be packing in your kit) – This class will be repeated tomorrow if you wish to take another class in this time slot

Remy will show you how to create show stopping body painting using your airbrush - clothing, graffiti styles, tattoo style body paint which is now becoming so popular and in demand by corporate customers. Remy will demonstrate the techniques he uses to create these living works of art, and he will teach you how to coax your airbrush to do the same. We cannot recommend this instructor highly enough. His experience and techniques have made him THE man in Montreal with an airbursh to follow. Niagara – JINNY – Illusions Face Painting
This class will focus on how to go against the natural lines of the face to create Illusions everyone will love! Topics covered include creating monster teeth, creating different facial expressions with only a couple of brush strokes and how to incorporate the mouth and eyes into a design.
Jinny will demonstrate how easy and fun it is to create designs that seem to totally change the shape and form of the face, whilst showing you how to keep the design as realistic as possible.
Once you master the tricks and techniques taught in this class, your face painting career will become even more exciting, as Jinny equips you with the tools you need to challenge yourself to create amazing “Illusion” design effects.
Chianti – Rebecca Artybrushstrokes – Using Split cakes for body art.
Rebecca T will demonstrate how to cover large areas of skin using split cakes and simple single stroke techniques. Cover more real estate faster using several colours at once – this should be a hugely entertaining and interesting class.

Larissa will teach you how to put your Henna skills to the test with developing florid floral designs to cover hands, feet and larger areas like backs. Larissa will cover some of the henna basics, with her usual uniquely warm and effective teaching methods. Expect to learn a lot in this class. Larissa’s flowers take some beating let me tell you! …and they are achievable….which is a wonderful thing!

Angie Hitch is a professional Make-Up artist, turned Face and Body Painter. Living and working in Alberta, Angie has a thorough knowledge of safe practice in the Esthetics industry, and has always applied her knowledge to the way she operates her Face painting and body painting operations. This course IS NOT about the Alberta Regulations to which all local painters much adhere. For new painters entering the profession, its helpful to know how safe practice can protect your business as well as your clients.

Known worldwide for her, “Beautiful Nothings”, Jinny will teach you how to create stunning eye designs!
This class will cover the importance of blending, and double loading your sponge to create a two tone coloured effect, and how to ensure your design flows with the natural curves of the eye and cheek area. Jinny will demonstrate the important tricks to remember when creating any abstract eye design. She will cover the topics of focal points and points of direction, and explain their importance to be able to execute perfect line-work around the eye area, whilst also demonstrating how to balance a design.
This class is a must for anyone who wants to learn how to create amazing abstract designs using only a small portion of the face.`

Mark Reid’s tigers are the reason most of us love to paint them…they are incredibly eyecatching, and with good line control, they are actually achievable….Mark has many variations on his superb tiger faces, like accents, which reflect the tiger design, but look more like a high fashion make up job! – learn to create wonders out of nowhere with this master.
